The b-bug trial
@ Brecon Beacons National Park
Join a funky eco-transport trial in the Brecon Beacons.
If you're staying in the Brecon Beacons National Park this summer (2011) and have a UK driving licence and comprehensive car insurance, you're invited to take part in the b-bug research trial.
Successful applicants will have free use of one of these funky, road-legal electric buggies for 3-5 days in exchange for your views about this novel form of “green” transport.
The b-bugs have a top speed of 30 mph and a range of 20-25 miles. You can use them to pop to the local shops for a paper or the pub for lunch, reach the start of a walk or explore the country lanes and visit local attractions.
The trial is being run by a local research company, The Prospectory and was part funded by The Welsh Assembly Government. The two trial b-bugs, `Boris' and `Blodwen' are designed and built by Dragon Electric Vehicles.
