Archaeology and Activities!

Discover what's under your feet through hands-on activities, talks, walks and displays as we step back in time to reveal Monmouth's past. Part of the UK-wide CBA Festival of British Archaeology 16-31 July 2011.

Join in varied and interesting activities and challenges accross Shire Hall including: Making Roman Style Pots Making medieval floor tiles Paper Marbling Toys from the past Costume Capers We also have archaeological displays from around the area and talks by Monmouth Archaeological Society on their craft and archaeology in our area! Or go on an exciting family archaeology walk with Monmouth Archaeologist Steve Clarke at 11am and 2pm.

DIG ON A REAL ARCHAEOLOGY SITE! On Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July explore the 'lost city of Trellech' at their excavation open weekend. 10am-6pm, Catbrook Road, Trellech.
